Hello Corey, two days after the tough loss against Chemnitz, what do you think why could we not get the Win?
I think it was a combination of things. I think defensively we played our best game of the season. I think that as a team we struggled shooting which hurt us in the end and also foul trouble. I think there was a sequence in the second half where we went from being down 5 points to 12 points in one possession due to a technical and Jan also received his 4th foul on that play so he was forced to sit for awhile.
Overall it is a hard season for the team with only two Wins so far, how frustrating is it and how do you always get the motivation back to work even harder?
It is very frustrating. I have never been on a team that has not had more wins than losses besides one year in college and it is new for me personally. I keep working as hard as possible though because I see us improving as a team and I know there is always room for improvement personally. Successful people never give up no matter what the circumstances. I am a very motivated player and although we are losing I will continue to give it everything I have.
You are now in Germany for over 5 months, how did you adjust to the European lifestyle and was it difficult?
In the beginning it was difficult just because of the language barrier and missing our family/friends. Luckily the people of Augsburg have been very nice and have made us feel welcome from the start. We love it here and all the people. It has been a great experience for us.
A lot of big things happened for you the past months, you are playing a great rookie season, you and Kerri are engaged and are planning your marriage. She is working as a German teacher in Augsburg. It seems like you are having a great time together, do you enjoy living in Germany with your fiancé?
I absolutely love living in Germany with my fiancé. It makes it much easier and fun for each other having someone to hang out with everyday. I never feel lonely and rarely homesick because I have the love of my life here with me. She also loves it and is enjoying being able to experience a different part of the world. She also just got a job teaching English and is enjoying interacting with the students. It has been a great experience for the both of us and we have been having a great time.
Do you have already plans for the next season?
It is much too early to have plans for next season yet. Typically I will find out where I play during the summer, so we will have to wait and see what my agent says than! I definitely plan on continuing playing overseas though!
Thank you for the Interview
